Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of October 8th:
- Kenai Kardinals Athletes of the Week are the football player Roman Mosquito.
- Roman is a huge contributor to the Kardinals on both the offensive and defensive lines.
- Nikiski Bulldogs Athlete of the Week is volleyball player Evelyn Reichert.
- Evelyn has been playing great defense and helped the Bulldogs get a conference win last week.
- Soldotna Stars Athlete of the Week is Cross-Country runner Annie Burns.
- Annie has been a central figure of Soldotna’s cross-country team for four years. She is a great student-athlete and a positive leader on the team.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
