Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of September 10th:
- For the Kenai Kardinals is volleyball player Stella Selanof
- Stella made the All-Tournament Team for the Shayna Pritchard Tournament in Nikiski.
- For the Nikiski Bulldogs is volleyball player Ashlynne Playle.
- Ashlynne helped her team reach the championship game in the Shayna Pritchard tournament. She ended that game with 16 kills and was selected as the tournament MVP.
- For the Soldotna Stars is Senior football player, Lokeni Wong.
- Lokeni is a leader on the back end of the defense and also scored a rushing touchdown this past Friday night against West Valley.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
