Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of September 24th:
- Kenai Kardinals Athlete of the Week is swimmer Abigail Price.
- Abigail set a school record in the 200 individual medley 2:18.32 – 1st Place. She also won the 500 Freestyle and was part of the Kardinals winning teams in the 200 and 400 Freestyle relays.
- Nikiski Bulldogs Athlete of the Week is football player Kailey Stynesberg.
- Kailey played amazing this week against SoHi leading the defense with 33 digs. She is a leader both on and off the court and strives to do her best!
- Soldotna Stars Athlete of the Week is cross-country runner Ollie Dahl.
- Ollie placed 5th at the Quad in Kodiak and has consistently led the SoHi boys’ team this season as a freshman.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
