Peninsula Sports spotlights senior athletes from the central peninsula’s three public high schools recognizing outstanding student athletes for their individual accomplishments and contributions to their schools extra-curricular programs.

 

Representing Nikiski High School… America Jefferies & Kaycee Bostic

 

America Jefferies

America Jefferies concluded four years of athlete excellence at Nikiski High School with a final basket at the Southcentral Conference basketball tournament in a knee brace, as teammates, parents and fans applauded America for her dedicated efforts for the Bulldogs.

Basketball

America, as the point guard for the Nikiski girls basketball team, lead the Bulldogs to the 2019 3A State Basketball runner-up title and America played on Nikiski’s  2018 3A State 4th-place and the 2017 3A State 5th-place teams.  America was selected to the Southcentral Conference Basketball 1st Team in 2020.

Volleyball

In the 2019 season, America was named 3A Volleyball Best Defensive Specialist, leading Nikiski to a 3rd -place finish at the ASAA 3A State Volleyball Championships.  America earned 1st Team 3A All-State honors and 1st Team Southcentral Conference honors.

Soccer

A 3-year forward and midfielder, America earned three varsity letters in soccer for the Bulldogs.

 

Kaycee Bostic

Kaycee Bostic earned all-conference and all-state honors in both volleyball and basketball for the 2019-2020 sports seasons.

Volleyball

With her play at the net, Kaycee helped the Nikiski girls to the 2018 3A State Volleyball championship and a 2019 3rd-Place finish at the state tournament.

Kaycee earned a 1st Team 3A All-State Volleyball selection and a 1st Team All-Southcentral Conference Volleyball selection in 2019.  Kaycee totaled 54 Aces, 235 kills, 35 blocks, and 81 digs in the 2019 season.

Basketball

Kaycee earned 2nd Team All-Southcentral Conference honors while helping the Bulldog girls to a runner-up finish at the Southcentral Conference tournament.  For the season, Kaycee averaged 6.2 ppg, 5.0 rpg, and 2.5 blocks per game.
