Peninsula Sports spotlights senior athletes from the central peninsula’s three public high schools recognizing outstanding student athletes for their individual accomplishments and contributions to their schools extra-curricular programs.

 

Representing Kenai Central High School…

Evan Stockton

The KCHS senior closed his career at Kenai Central High School with a solid performance at the Southcentral Conference Basketball Championships.

Basketball

In the 2019-20 basketball season, Evan developed into Kenai’s main scoring threat and helped the Kardinal boys to back-to-back victories in the final rounds of the Southcentral Conference Basketball Tournament (the final high school sporting event of the 2019-20 school year).  Evan scored 20 points in Kenai’s season-ending victory over Houston.  Evan was named to the Southcentral Conference All-Conference 2nd Team and also earned MVP honors at the Craig Jung Kenai River Challenge and an all-tournament team selection at the ACS Tournament.  Evan earned three, varsity basketball letters at KCHS.

Cross Country

Evan competed for three seasons with the Kenai cross-country running team, advancing to the ASAA state cross country running championships in 2018.
