Following play at the West Spiketacular, area volleyball teams squared-off in non-conference games on Tuesday.
The Nikiski Bulldogs hosted the Soldotna Stars, nearly by candlelight as a power outage almost caused a cancellation of the varsity contest. The SoHi girls downed Nikiski in three straight games 25-14, 25-17, 25-15. Judah Aley lead SoHi with 10 kills and Emily Hensley lead the Bulldogs with 10 service aces.
The Kenai Kardinals hosted non-conference opponent Seward and sweep the Seahawks 25-17, 25-18, 25-10 behind 11 kills by Abby Beck and 13 assists for Alli Steinbeck. The Kardinals travel to Homer on Thursday for more non-conference volleyball.
