A decision on who will be the next Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation CEO has been tabled after board members interviewed four candidates Wednesday.
A special meeting will be scheduled in the near future to announce the final hiring decision, according to a release.
The Fund’s Board was scheduled to interview Angela Rodell, Brian Rogers, Alexander Slivka and Glenn Cipriano today at the Corporation’s Juneau offices.
Rodell is a former state Revenue commissioner. Rogers was previously chancellor of the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Slivka is the director of institutional marketing at McKinley Capital Management LLC. Cipriano previously served as president of Alaska USA Trust Co.
Former Fund CEO, Mike Burns retired last spring for his health but passed away before this year’s record-breaking PFD announcement.
Fund spokeswoman Laura Achee said acting CEO Valerie Mertz did not apply for the job. The starting salary for the position ranges from $202,000 to $303,000.
When announcing the decision’s extension today, Board Chair Bill Moran said, “Having time to reflect on the answers that our candidates gave and weigh them against the needs of the Permanent Fund will produce the best result. Because of the importance of this position, we have decided to take that time.”
