If you filed your child’s Permanent Fund Dividend within the first 12 days of this year, you may need to resubmit your signature page.
Director Sara Race with the Permanent Fund Dividend Division says there was a problem with this year’s application for children.
Race: “Parents who applied prior to January 12 at 10:34 am who signed their child’s application, signed their signature page that had in the certification language the 2014 date under one of the bullet points. So because of that we ended up choosing to have individuals resign those applications it affected, roughly 3% of all of our applicants but of course it’s important to get that issue resolved.”
Parents who completed the signatures through MyAlaska can sign in and resubmit those signatures. If parents sent children’s applications in the mail, only the signature page must be sent again.
The Division has sent out emails notifying parents whose children’s applications were affected.
Race: “One of the things that’s important is that people are able to receive information from the Permanent Fund Dividend Division. That’s one thing is that you do want to check your junk mail and reroute the mail from the Permanent Fund into your inbox. But we will be notifying people again within 15 days, and then we’ll also notify again a third time via letter if we still haven’t received letters, so we pursue it.”
The filing deadline is March 31.
