The Peninsula Oilers, behind solid pitching, shut out the Anchorage Glacier Pilots 2-0 on Thursday at Mulcahy Stadium. The win edged the Oilers (18-15) over the Pilots (14-17) in the three-game series 2-1.

The Oilers scored the first run of the game in the top of the first on a Ryan Koch sacrifice fly scoring Ryan Novis, one of two RBI for Koch.
Koch drove in the second Oilers run in the top of the third on an RBI single plating Zack Zalesky, putting the Oilers on top 2-0.
Oilers pitching dominated throughout.
Oilers starter Noah Owen opened by tossing four shutout innings, Ryan Silva followed with three, scoreless frames; Tevin Murray recorded one inning, and Calvin Farris closed out the game earning his first save of the season with a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning.
The Oilers with the win improve to 18-15, the Pilots stand at 14-17.
Oilers Road Trip Continues With Pair Of Showcase Games And 2018 ABL All-Star Game
The Peninsula Oilers open the 2018 ABL Scout’s Showcase on Friday with a 1 p.m. contest against the Mat-Su Miners at Mulcahy Stadium. All five ABL teams will play in the Showcase event with games on Friday and Saturday; all Showcase games are scheduled for seven innings.
On Saturday, The Oilers take on the Pilots in their second scout showcase match-up scheduled for 4 p.m.
The 2018 Alaska Baseball League All-Star festivities cap-off the weekend on Sunday, with the 2018 Home Run Derby at 1 p.m. and ABL All-Star Game at 4 p.m.
