An opportunity to clinch playoff berths into the Medium School division playoffs for both Kenai Central and Soldotna High and an opportunity for a little redemption for Nikiski against the Small School reigning champions; all on the line in week six of the high school football regular season. The Bulldogs travel to Fairbanks for a showdown with the 2014 Small School champion Eielson Ravens on Saturday, September 19th at Eielson High School. Eielson defeat Nikiski 55-51 in the 2014 championship game.
Nikiski looks to test themselves against the Ravens; the Bulldogs having dominated four-straight Small Schools opponents. The Bulldogs have amassed nearly 1400 rushing yards and 500 passing yards on the season. Leading the way on the ground is Rykker Riddall and Corin Cooper, each with over 400 rushing yards. Cade Anderson has passed for 500 yards and seven touchdowns.
Nikiski stands at 2-0 in the Peninsula Conference of Small School football and 4-1 on the season. Last week, Eielson had its 13 game win streak ended by Large School opponent Lathrop.

The second biggest group cheering for the Kenai Kardinals on Saturday at the Kardinal Homecoming game against the Palmer Moose may be the Soldotna Stars.
The Kenai Kardinals can not only clinch a playoff spot for themselves; but can also, clinch a spot for the Soldotna Stars with a Kardinal victory over the Palmer Moose. Palmer has one conference loss to the Stars, a second loss and the Kards and Stars will play week eight for positioning into the Small School playoffs.
The Kardinals are powered by their offensive and defensive lines and a power running game featuring Zack Tuttle, Andrew Welborn, Chase Gillies and Nick Beeson.
The Kardinals vs the Palmer Moose set for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Ed Hollier Field at KCHS.

The Soldotna Stars look to defend their perfect record for 2015 and extend their program’s winning streak to 35 straight games, when SoHi hosts Eagle River on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Justin Maile Field at Soldotna High School.
The Stars lead by dominant play on the offensive and defensive lines; which allows the SoHi offense to amass over 400 yards per game and the SoHi defense to be near-impenetrable. The Stars rushing attack lead by Kristian Palaniuk, Mason Prior, Jace Urban and quarterback Dylan Simons.
