Kenai Police Department received a report from Central Peninsula Hospital on November 21, 2023 of an infant child that was critically ill with significant injuries that were consistent with shaken baby syndrome.
The infant was transferred to medical care in Anchorage. Investigators with the Kenai Police Department worked with investigators from the Anchorage Police
Department to investigate the injuries to the infant.
Josiah Fischer, age 23, of Kenai has subsequently been charged with Assault in the 1st Degree, Assault in the 2nd Degree, and Assault in the 3rd Degree, all of which are DV related.
Fischer was arrested by the Anchorage Police Department and has been charged with the crimes in the Kenai Court.
