The Kenai Police Department received a report of two unknown males making a traffic stop with the use of emergency lights near Mile 13 of Kenai Spur Road, near the Kenai soccer fields, a little after 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25.
The vehicle making the traffic stop was described as a 2005-2010 black Dodge Charger with dark tinted windows and the newer Alaska Northern Lights license plates. The vehicle reportedly had red and blue lights, possibly in the dashboard area. One male was described as a Hispanic male with a beard, aged mid-30s, and the other was a white male with longer sandy-brown hair, age mid-30s.
Both were wearing collared shirts and patches on their shirt sleeves. One was wearing a white athletic ball cap. Both were reportedly armed with handguns. The driver who was stopped on Sunday evening was asked to exit the vehicle, at which time the driver asked for the fraudsters’ identifications. Rather than identify themselves, the two males returned to their car and drove away. They drove north bound on Kenai Spur Road.
Kenai Police Department reports that investigation into the incident is ongoing.
