Post 20 Sweeps Doubleheader Against Bartlett

In the first doubleheader of the season , the Post 20 Twins took two from the Bartlett Golden Bears on Thursday at Bartlett winning the non-league game 7-2 and shutting-out Bartlett 16-0 in the league game.

 

Kenai Post 20 Twins 7 – Bartlett 2 (non-league )

The Twins and Golden Bears played even through seven innings, tied at 2-2 and forcing extra innings.  In the eighth inning, the Twins exploded for five runs for a 7-2 victory.

Two hit performances were turned-in by Atticus Gibson, Gabe Smith, and Simon Grenier as the Twins collected seven runs on 10 hits.

 

Kenai Post 20 Twins 16 – Bartlett 0  (league )

The Twins went “Johnny Bullpin” in the league game against Bartlett with four Twins pitchers combining for a five-inning, 16-0 shut-out of the Golden Bears.

The Twins opened with a four-run, first inning and followed with three runs in the third, seven runs in the fourth and two runs in the fifth inning forcing the mercy-rule for a second league game of the season.  Nate Mowery drove in four runs and collected a pair of hits including a first-inning home run.

Riley Johnson opened on the mound with two, scoreless inning and five strikeouts.  Jacob Belger, Levi Mickelson and Nate Mowrey each pitched one scoreless inning.

 

The Post 20 Twins improve to 2-0 in the American Division league standings.  Post Twin will host its first home games at Oilers Park on Saturday, June 11th.
