The Binkley Street Renovation Project is trucking along as the 2014 construction season nears end.
Traffic Control Supervisor Andrea Bock with the project said Wednesday will bring new detour changes.
Bock: “Well we’ve decided to close Park Avenue and Binkley Street starting Wednesday so that everybody can still get to the borough and vote. What will happen when we do the road closure there is the road will be closed directly in front of the borough, on Park Avenue you will no longer be able to access the post office via Spur [Highway], Park Avenue, to the post office. The only access to the post office will still be the temporary one on Park Avenue but you can only get to that from Fireweed.”
She said despite some minor setbacks earlier in the project, the construction is still mostly on schedule and set to be finalized this year.
Bock said the only thing likely to be set for next season is the sewer lift station at Coral Street.
