On Monday, Katie MacLeod was announced as KSRM’s winner of the annual Pot of Gold contest.
She said she was listening to Tradio when she got the call.
MacLeod: “Bryce said we’re going to draw the grand prize winner, and I had my radio on so I could hear that phone at the same time mine was and I said ‘I won I won I won!!’ and I think he said ‘How do you know you won?’ and I said ‘I heard the phone on the radio and mine at the same time.'”
MacLeod told us she will be giving ten percent of her $1000 winnings to her church and then hopes to maybe travel, but not right away.
MacLeod: “Probably Sarasota, Florida to visit my relatives who live there. I’d like to go to Ireland but I’d have to take someone with me because I don’t travel that far by myself anymore.”
She said she was surprised because she entered often last year but won nothing and she had previously been very lucky in drawings, winning turkeys, quilts, and large paintings from other contests.
MacLeod attributes her Irish heritage for her luck.
