The rehabilitation project for East Poppy Road is in full swing and drivers should expect short delays.
College Loop was improved first and Brian Gabriel with the Department of Transportation said Knik Construction began grinding the old pavement on East Poppy Road from K-Beach towards the college this morning.
Gabriel: “They haven’t opened up College yet, although that will be the plan. They are still doing a few approaches there and did some striping on it this morning for the center line so once they can release traffic on that they’ll open that one up for the alternate route but they have flagging operations in place for East Poppy right now.”
The work is scheduled to be done this by June 12, Friday night if weather is agreeable, with crews working 6 am to 6 pm.
