At the October 15 Kenai City Council meeting there will be a public hearing on Kenai’s top funding priorities.
City Manager Rick Koch detailed how they divided the priorities into three lists.
Koch: “First list is for City of Kenai capital priority requests for projects over $100,000. The second list is for City of Kenai requests under $100,000. The third list is for projects that aren’t necessarily for the City of Kenai, but they’re in our area and they have a statewide benefit.”
Koch highlighted some of the local projects with statewide impacts…
Koch: “The access road to the South Beach. That’s mostly people from Anchorage and the Borough that benefit during the personal use fishery. Kenai Spur Highway 5 lanes, that is going to benefit the whole state, certainly as a component of support for the LNG Project.”
The City’s primary local request is for help funding street paving and improvements. The top request for projects under $100,000 is for restrooms at the Kenai Little League/Softball fields, which would also be available to dip netters.
That meeting will happen at 7:00 pm in the Kenai City Hall council chambers.
