The City of Soldotna is requesting public input for city street maintenance through an interactive map on their website.
City Engineer Kyle Kornelis says it is part of their street inventory and management plan.
Kornelis: “Doing a condition assessment of all of our streets, developing strategies for prioritizing the expenditure of our limited funds for street projects and then kind of listing a number of projects in kind of a tiered approach of when to begin looking at pavement preservation and other similar type projects.”
He says the input will help the city better understand areas the public believes need paving maintenance, better lighting, drainage improvements, sidewalk repair, etc.
Kornelis: “Engage the public with providing feedback to us about locations withing Soldotna city limits that they want to comment on, whether it be road conditions, street projects that they wish could be done or just bring things to our attention that we may not have seen out in the field.”
