Public Invited to Participate in AK Food Resource Group Meeting

From 10 am to noon on September fourth the Alaska Food Resource Working Group will meet in Fairbanks.

 

This group was formed by an administrative order to recommend policies and measures to increase the purchase and consumption of local farm products and wild seafood.

 

Some of the items on the agenda include developing a mission statement, identifying factors that currently discourage local food purchases by agencies and schools and engaging the public.

 

It also invites testimony fromt he meat processing community, is open to the public, and persons may participate via phone by calling 1-800-315-6338 and entering code 84261#.
