Public Meeting in Lowell Point Scheduled on May 13

The Kenai Peninsula Borough will be hosting a town hall for residents in Lowell Point this Friday, May 13th at the Lowell Point Fire Hall at 7pm. The KPB Office of Emergency Management will provide an update for Lowell Point residents and answer questions regarding the landslide response and recovery actions.

 

For residents who are not able to attend the town hall in-person, the meeting will be broadcast live on the KPB Alerts Facebook page. If residents have any questions ahead of time, please submit your question in the comment section of the post on their social media page or through Facebook Messenger to KPB Alerts. During the town hall, staff will be monitoring the comments section for any questions that arise during the meeting.

 

The Kenai Peninsula Borough encourages Lowell Point residents to contact the KPB Office of Emergency Management at (907) 224-INFO (4636) with any issues or concerns you have. For more information on the Lowell Point Road landslide, continue to follow the City of Seward and KPB Alerts on Facebook.

 

Since it is not yet known when Lowell Point Road will reopen, please continue to plan ahead for food, water, heating oil, and other needs to ensure you have adequate supplies for the next 7-14 days.

 

Additionally, crews continue to remove landslide debris. The public is requested to cooperate by staying clear of Lowell Point Road from both directions with barricades set up and manned at the Lowell Creek Diversion Tunnel waterfall area.
