The Region III Nordic Ski Championships will feature two days of competition at the Government Peak Rec Area Trails in the Mat-Su Valley; racing contested on Friday and Saturday, February 13-14.
All high school skiers are eligible to compete at the Region III meet with competition in both the classic and freestyle events.
Schedule of Events
Friday Feb 13th – Day One 5km Classic individual start
1:00pm Varsity Boys: 5 km Classic Race Individual Start (20 sec)
5 minute hold after last Boys starter Varsity Girls: 5 km Classic Race Individual Start (20 sec)
Course description: One (1) lap of Matanuska and Susitna loops
Saturday Febuary 14th – Day Two Skate Race (Mass Start):
Varsity girls (5 km) 10:00 AM
JV girls (5 km) 10:45 AM
Varsity boys (7.5 km) 11:30 AM
JV boys (7.5 km) 12:15 PM
Awards 1:30 pm @ GPRA Chalet
Same courses as day 1, except boys will ski Matanuska loop a second time
All teams are eligible for the ASAA/First National Bank 2015 Nordic Skiing State Championships scheduled for February 19–21 on the Kincaid Park Trails in Anchorage.
