The 2019 Region III Nordic Ski Championships crowned the Palmer girls and Colony boys as team champions following two-days of competition at the Government Peak course in Palmer. The Soldotna boys finished only eight seconds behind Colony in total time, the Knights combined time of 1:33:27. The SoHi girls finished third in the team scoring.
Region III Nordic Ski: Girls Results
Homer’s Annika Hannestad repeated as the girls Region III champion with a two-day total time of 32:17. Maria Salzetti placed 6th in combined time. SoHi’s Hannah Delker, Erica Arthur and Katie Delker placed 8th, 10th and 11th.
Hannestad topped the field in Friday’s 5-kilometer freestyle with a time of 17:22:3.
Hannestad posted a time of 14:54.9 for first place in Saturday’s 5-kilometer classic race.

Palmer’s Joseph Walling completed the two-days of competition in 37:28 for the boys’ individual title. SoHi’s Bradley Walters finished fifth in combined time; SoHi’s Jack Harris, 6th and Jeremy Kupferschmid, 8th.
