The 2014 Region III Cross Country Running Championships will be contested in Kodiak on Saturday, September 27th featuring the top distance runners in the state.
Kenai’s Allie Ostrander will vie for her fourth-straight Region III girls championship and Kodiak’s Levi Thomet will compete for a third-straight Region III boys title.
The SoHi girls and Colony girls should lead the way in the girls team scoring; the Kodiak boys are favored in the boys team event.
The Homer girls will also be in the hunt for a team title in the 1-2-3A division.
The Region III Cross Country Running Championships serve as a qualifier for the upcoming 2014 ASAA Alaska State Cross Country Running Championships which are scheduled for October 4th at Bartlett High School.

123A Cross Country Running Berths to State
• Region 3: Top 4 teams (7 members each) and any runner in the top 15 not on the 4 qualifying teams.
4A Cross Country Running Berths to State
• Region 3: Top 3 teams (7 members each) and any runner in the top 15 not on the 3 qualifying teams.
