The Nikiski Bulldogs face their final Peninsula Conference opponent on Thursday and the Soldotna Stars celebrate Senior Night on Thursday, opening the final weekend of the regular season for a majority of Kenai Peninsula basketball teams.
Nikiski Basketball
The Bulldogs open a three-day road swing with a Peninsula Conference stop at Grace Christian School on Thursday.
The Grizzlies own the #1 position in the Peninsula Conference standings and have earned the #1 seed, girls and boys, into the upcoming Peninsula Conference tournament. The Nikiski girls stand at 0-7 and the Bulldog boys own a 2-5 conference record. Thursday’s varsity game are scheduled for 6 & 7:30 p.m. at Grace Christian and will be broadcast on KSRM 920AM and streamed live at radiokenai.com.
Nikiski travels to play Eastern Conference, formerly Southcentral Conference, opponents Houston and Redington for games on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, Nikiski battles Houston at 6 & 7:30 p.m.; the Houston boys are undefeated in conference play and the Hawk girls are without a conference victory.
Saturday, the Bulldogs travel to Redington to face the Huskies. Redington stands in second in the Eastern Conference entering the weekend.

Soldotna Basketball
The Soldotna Stars host Seward on Thursday in non-divisional basketball for the Stars’ Senior Night. The games are scheduled for 6:15 and 8 p.m. with senior activities before the start of each game.
SoHi closes the regular season on Saturday with a trip to Palmer to face the Moose in Northern Lights Conference play. The SoHi girls stand at 2-7 in the NLC and will be the #5 seed into the Northern Lights Conference tournament. The SoHi boys are 0-9 in conference play and own the #6 seed into the six-team Northern Lights Conference tournament scheduled for March 17-19 at Palmer High School. Saturday games are set for 1:30 and 3 p.m. at Palmer High School.

Kenai Basketball
The Kardinal boys, finished with Peninsula Conference play with a 3-5 record and a #3 seed position for the conference tournament, will host the 2A Ninilchik boys on Saturday at KCHS. Ninilchik is undefeated for the 2021-22 basketball season with victories over Kenai, SoHi, Seward and Homer. The Wolverines recorded a 65-44 win over Kenai at the SoHi Al Howard Tipoff Tournament in January.
