There will be no school for the Kenai Peninsula College nor Kenai Peninsula District Schools on Monday, January 19 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Suzie Kendrick with the Kenai Peninsula College…
Kendrick: “We will be closing on Monday the 19th and reopening for normal hours on January 20th.”
She also called on students to be mindful of the reason for the holiday.
Kendrick: “Kenai Peninsula College in general has a philosophy that although Martin Luther King Day is a great time to remember service above self, at the college we like to promote throughout the year volunteerism in service to our students, faculty and staff and we take that one step further via our service learning program where we actually bring a service component into a course curriculum to hopefully instill that spirit of helping others in our students throughout their entire lives.”
Classes for both KPC and the school district will resume Tuesday, January 20.
