Just over $1.1 million in renovations are scheduled to begin in KPC’s Kenai River Campus soon.

Advancement Programs Manager Suzie Kendrick says the face lift will be taking place in the Clayton R Brockel Building’s art gallery, library, and Learning Center.

Kendrick: “The funding for this particular project was appropriated to KPC by the University in fiscal years 2013, 2014, 2015 as part of repair and renewal funds for deferred maintenance. So this has been a long time in the planning and the renovations are going to basically make things so much more streamlined for students in terms of where they are going to receive their tutoring and also the library has really needed some attention in terms of bringing up to modern standards.”

The work is expected to last until around the beginning of the Fall 2016 semester so until then the learning center and library staff will be temporarily relocated to upstairs offices in the Enid S. McClane Building.

Kendrick: “In addition to that the library and the learning center will set up a help services desk in the upper part of the Riverview Commons in the Goodrich building there so that there will be a public space for those two entities.”

Signs will also be posted throughout the campus to direct students once the temporary locations are set up.
