Alaska’s sole member of the U.S. House of Representatives announced on Thursday that he has tested positive for COVID-19.
Representative Don Young’s Twitter account was updated a little after 12:00 p.m. to reflect that Young is feeling strong, working from home, and asking for privacy.
In May, the House passed a rules change to allow proxy voting for floor votes and remote committee meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic. Young is not the first member of Congress to test positive for the virus, with over 20 members having announced a positive test.
