Original Article:
Heavy overnight snowfall has prompted road closures along the Seward Highway due to a combination of hazardous road conditions and disabled vehicles.
The Department of Transportation initially reported hazardous conditions in Moose Pass shortly before 3:00am this morning. Then, at approximately 6:30am the DOT updated road conditions to indicate the Seward Highway was impassable in certain areas, and closed from Seward through the Turnagain Pass, beginning at Mile 27.5.
Travel along the Seward Highway is advised for emergencies only.
