Along with spring, pothole season is here and the State of Alaska Department of Transportation is gearing up for maintenance season.
Tammie Cooke with the department said public reports of potholes on state roads are appreciated.
Cooke: “Well sometimes we’re not aware of a pothole until somebody calls us and reports it. And we try to get out there as soon as possible, we’re not everywhere all the time but it definitely helps to let us know so we can get out there and fix it.”
Cooke said the DOT office in Soldotna handles the highways from Homer to Seward and the Seward Highway from Seward to around Summit Lake.
Cooke: “If you see a pothole on a state road you dial 262-2199 and report it.”
