The Soldotna High School Robotics Club FrostTech Team earned a qualifying slot into the Alaska state robotics competition scheduled for January.
The FrostTech Team earned 1 of 11 qualifying spots at the FirstTech Challenge League Championship held at Dimond High School on November 19th. The Frost Tech Team was awarded the Connect Award. FrostTech Team members included: Chance Turvin, Quinn Lucas, and Caleb Matson. The FrostBot Team consisting of Tovia Owens, Colleen Yeskie and Esther Fredrickson will have one more opportunity to qualify to the state competition with a qualifying competition scheduled for December 9th and 10th.
The First Tech Challenge Alaska State Championship is scheduled for at January 28th at the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
The Soldotna Robotics Club is coached by Kristin McGlothen, teacher at Soldotna Prep School. Soldotna Prep School hosts the club and the students represent three local schools: Soldotna High School, Soldotna Prep School and River City Academy.
