As summer speeds by, the Kenai Peninsula School District is continuing to transition Skyview into a middle school and what used to be Soldotna Middle School into Soldotna Prep.
KPBSD Superintendent Dr. Steve Atwater gave us an update.
Dr. Atwater: “Well the move is a heavy lift there are a lot of moving parts and so we are happy it’s going as well as it is, really pleased with all the teachers and everybody chipped in to get things ready, the fire really threw a ringer, made it made it more difficult because Skyview of course became the command central for the fire effort so hard to keep it all going in terms of moving materials in moving materials out, that kind of thing, so it’s all coming together and we’ll be fine for August when we open school but right now there’s still a lot of work that has to be done.”
