The Seward Seahawk boys and Homer Mariner girls basketball teams open first-round play at the ASAA 3A State Basketball Championships on Wednesday, March 20th, at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage.
All games involving the Seahawks and Mariners will be broadcast on ESPN 1140AM, 96.9FM, and streamed live and free at radiokenai.com.
The Homer Mariner girls, seeded #5 into the 3A state tournament bracket, open against the #4 seed Mt. Edgecumbe from Sitka, the Eastern Conference, in the 8 a.m. game in the Aux Gym in the Alaska Airlines complex. The Mariners ended the season with an 18 – 9 overall record.
The Seward boys, seeded #6 into the boys bracket, open the tournament with a 7:45 p.m. pairing Wednesday against the #3-seeded Grace Christian Grizzlies. Seward played the Grizzles in Homer at the 3A Conference Tournament championship, falling to Grace.
