A fugitive wanted after last Saturday’s high-speed highway chase was taken into custody yesterday morning after a special task force was put on the details.

The US Marshals Fugitive Task Force was asked by Soldotna Troopers to track down 32-year-old Andre Tanner, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant stemming from a pursuit that occurred from Soldotna to mile 52 of the Seward Highway.

Yesterday at 10:45am, the Task Force found Tanner as a passenger inside a parked car at Knik Goose Bay Road and Fairview Loop in Wasilla.

Officers say Tanner initially failed to comply with commands from Law Enforcement but was taken into custody. He was observed to have an injury to his wrist prior to his arrest and US Marshals administered first aid until medics arrived. Tanner was transported to Mat-Su Regional Hospital where he was cleared by medical personnel and was later remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial on his outstanding warrant for Violation of Parole with an original charge Forgery I, Theft II, and MICS IV, as well the warrant for Reckless Driving, and Fail to Stop.

The driver of the vehicle which Tanner was located in, 35-year-old Anchorage resident, Melissa Bradley, was also arrested for Hindering Prosecution 1.
