A Wasilla man is missing and feared drowned after a canoe capsized. Alaska State Troopers say a search continues for 67-year-old Edgar Curtis at Finger Lake in Wasilla.

He was canoeing Monday afternoon with 30-year-old Gary Curtis of Wasilla when their canoe was capsized by the wake of a passing boat.

Troopers and Mat-Su Fire rescue responded to calls for help just after 5 p.m. Both men wore auto-inflating flotation vests that did not self-inflate.

A boater pulled Cary Curtis from the water but Edgar Curtis had disappeared below the surface. Gary Curtis was transported by medics to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.

Emergency personnel and a canine team continue to search along with Alaska Dive Search Rescue and Recovery Team, which is searching with sonar.
