Dallas Seavey, four-time Iditarod champion, completed his 8-hour layover in Skwentna and hit the trail at 8:44 p.m. Sunday night enroute to the 2021 finish line at Deshka Landing.
Seavey holds a one hour, one minute lead over Aaron Burmeister and nearly three hours over Brent Sass.
The trail from Skwentna to Deshka Landing is listed at 67 miles. Seavey averaged about seven miles per hour on the leg between Finger Lake and Skwentna. With no major problems on the trail, the leaders should reach the finish at Deshka Landing early morning Monday, March 15th.
