Just moments after Dallas arrived in Nome this morning, our partner radio station KNOM asked him about his rather lively dogs who had just finished the 1,000 mile race.
Seavey: “I think it says we did the race the right way, I don’t like running a tired dog team, there’s no real need to, so keep them happy, keep them lively, and they’ll keep giving it to you on the line. That’s the whole idea is be able to move quick and have a lively team to do it.”
Dallas’ father Mitch arrived four hours later and between 4 – 6 pm this evening, Aliy Zirkle, Joar Leifseth Ulsom of Norway, and Jeff king have joined finishers in Nome.
