Sen. Lisa Murkowski is promoting Alaska’s economy in criticizing the Biden Administration’s decisions to block the state’s natural resources industries, including the ability to extract minerals or oil. On Newsmax TV, Sen. Murkowski spoke with Nancy Brinker saying that she’s not only a strong proponent of resource development, but that she’s also a conservationist.

Sen. Murkowski said:

This administration has been very, very, very hard on a resource producing state like Alaska. You mentioned our resource wealth. That really is very much a part, a strong and integral part of our state’s economy. When Biden came into office, it’s like he came in with an effort to shut down an industry that has not only allowed Alaska to have a strong and vibrant economy but has allowed Alaska to be a contributor to our nation’s economy.”

Murkowski speaks on how the current regulations are affecting the ability to retrieve rare earth minerals in Alaska:

Minerals need to be extracted from the earth. That’s called mining. That’s actually an industry that helped to make places like Alaska and so many parts of this country strong and vibrant. When you have an administration that comes in and says no drilling, keep it in the ground and keep your mineral resources in the ground and instead let’s get these resources from other countries, other countries that might have a pretty shoddy environmental track record, but we need that resource, so we’re going to say we’ll take it from you, but we’re not going to allow for production, whether of oil or minerals where we know that we’ve got a good regulatory framework that we know we are environmental stewards.”

Sen. Murkowski tells the Administration to drop the hostility against American energy producers and support and approve major projects like Willow in Alaska.
