As we previously reported, Lucky Raven Tobacco posted a video in response to Senate Bill 209 in which District O Sen. Peter Micciche is hoping to discuss prohibiting smoking in certain locations.
Today during a Senate Majority press availability in Juneau, Sen. Micciche spoke about seeing the video.
Sen. Micciche: “For anyone that has access to my Senate Facebook page, an opponent of the bill being active inside smoke shops posted a really great video on my Facebook page. I love my district, I have folks that in this case were very entertaining but very positive in the way that they discussed that opposition.”
The Senator has said he is interested in discussing this bill as many parts around the state have already adopted similar laws.
Sen. Micciche: “Ya know half of Alaskan’s are living with that law today, a smoke free workplace its fair to have that discussion to see if the other half of Alaskan’s want that protection.”
The House Health and Social Services committee will review a companion bill HB 360 today.
