Alaska Sen. Dan Sullivan recently left a classified briefing with U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the Russian threat to Ukraine. U.S. intelligence are of the belief that Russia may be plotting a staged attack against Russians in order to justify a military assault on neighboring Ukraine, which some say could include a video of a fake attack.
Sen. Sullivan told constituents that President Biden needs to recognize that showing weakness by shutting down American energy production and cutting the defense budget emboldens Russian President Vladimir Putin to these types of crises:
