Today Senate Candidate Daniel Sullivan attended the Kenai Chamber of Commerce luncheon. He is campaigning for the Republican seat for Alaska that Mark Begich currently holds.
When we asked him what he wants to work on for the Kenai, Sullivan said that despite people telling him the Cook Inlet is a “dead basin”, his resources indicate otherwise.
Sullivan: “We executed a strategy with many people who live here, to say less government, more economic freedom. Let’s make our investment regime attractive. Let’s keep the feds out. And importantly we went on, I personally led it, a strategy to go on and promote this basin. we went all over the country.”
He also said the work on jobs, energy production, and private sector investments in the inlet are great examples of a turnaround for the Kenai Peninsula.
Sullivan is also the former Attorney General of Alaska and the former Commissioner of the Department of Natural Resources.
