The Alaska State senate unanimously passed a bill that would extend the termination date of the Alaska Board of Chiropractic Examiners and requiring a report on audit compliance by the board. Senate Bill 193 was sponsored by Senate President Peter Micciche.
Sen. David Wilson said:
“This bill, Senate Bill 193 extends the Board of Chiropractic Examiners for an additional five years making the new sunset June 30, 2027. The audit that was conducted has been effectively serving the state, conducting meetings, been in accordance to state laws, amending certain regulations to improve the profession and effectively licensing and regulating chiropractic physicians. In addition to the five years, this bill also adds a section of uncodified law that requires the Legislative Division of Audit to submit a report to the Legislative Budget and Audit Committee concerning the compliance to the board one year after the effective date.”
Sen. Wilson added:
“Taking a little liberty with your piece of legislation, here, but I think that you will find it very appreciative that all the committee work and all the corrective adjustments and alignments to get this bill straightened out for today’s passage.”
Senator Micciche’s Senate Bill 193 passed on a 16-0 vote and is transmitted to the Alaska House of Representatives for consideration.
