Kenai Peninsula Senator Peter Micciche earns the most of Alaska’s 20 state senators, but his cost to tax payers is among the least, according to 2014 financial disclosures.

Senators aren’t required to give specific details on their annual income, but as superintendent of the ConocoPhillips Kenai LNG facility Micciche earned between $200,000 and $500,000, the most of any of his peers. The Cook Inlet drifter also netted $50,000 or less commercial salmon fishing with Inlet Raider Seafoods.

On the other side of the equation, Micciche ranked third-lowest for expenses in Juneau. Senators are paid a salary of $50,400 plus $22,515 for per diem expenses and can claim other reimbursements.

For 2014, Micciche took home a total of $88,498, making him the third least expensive lawmaker. Senator Dennis Egan, who lives in Juneau, took home $84,576 and Rep. Lindsay Holmes of Anchorage claimed $86,424.

Some bush Alaska lawmakers spent close to $150,000.
