Senior Night Basketball Produces 3 of 4 Home Court Victories

Senior Night at both Kenai Central and Soldotna High School returned three of four victories for the host teams.

 

Kenai Girls 43 – Nikiski 51

The Nikiski girls rallied from a first quarter 11-8 deficit with a 22-point, second quarter and owned a 30-21 lead at the half enroute to a 51-43 victory over Kenai.  Lillian Carstens scored 29 points for the Bulldogs; Erin Koziczkowski scored 14 points for the Kardinals.

Kenai Boys 58 – Nikiski 39

Nine three-point baskets, seven in the first half. pushed the Kardinal boys past the Bulldogs 58-39 on Tuesday at KCHS.  Kenai lead by ten 18-8 after one period opening up the lead on back-to-back 3’s by Lucas Tunseth and Jordan Kvasnikoff.  Kenai lead 31-20 at the half.  Kvasnikoff scored 18 points for the Kardinals; Austin Stafford scored 17 for the Bulldogs.

 

SoHi Girls 56 – Seward 29

Six senior players took to the court for the SoHi girls as the Stars built a 31-10 halftime lead on their way to a 56-29 victory over the Seward Seahawks.  Sophomore Josie Sheridan lead the Stars with 20 points and seniors Morgan Bouschor and Drysta Crosby-Schneider scored 13 and 11 respectively.

SoHi Boys 54 – Seward 46

The SoHi boys trailed 33-31 after three quarters and surged ahead of Seward in the fourth quarter for a 54-46 win over the Seahawks.  SoHi scored 23 points in the fourth quarter including six points by senior Josh Pieh.  Ethan Sewell lead the Stars with 15 points; Seward’s Max Pfieffenberger scored 14 for the Seahawks.
