According to the National Weather Service, the blizzard previously predicted to hit the south Kenai Peninsula Borough has hit Homer, reducing visibility to under a half mile.
Dave Strickland with the National Weather Service gave us an update on the Homer area.
Strickland: “Winds are blowing 25-28 gusting up to 42 miles per hour or so. Conditions down there have deteriorated, pretty rough right now, so they are in blizzard conditions.”
He also said Turnagain Pass recieved 10-12 inches of snow overnight and is still experiencing high winds and snow around the arm however neither snow storm should reach the Kenai and Soldotna area.
