Seward Dual Meet Replaces Tsalteshi Invitational

The cross country running fall season on the Peninsula suffered an early blow with the cancellation of the 30th Annual Ted McKenney Invitational (formally known as the Tsalteshi Invitational) with the Central Peninsula moving into the High Risk (Red) positive test 14-day results.  All Central Peninsula schools move into a two-week, red level protocol with only restricted practices allowed.

 

Homer and Seward cross country teams gathered in Seward for a season-opening dual competition.  Homer falls in the South Peninsula division for covid testing and Seward stands in the Eastern Peninsula zone.  Both are currently in an acceptable Intermediate or Low positive test level.

 

In the girls competition, Seward’s Maranatha Brueckner posted a time of 23 minutes, 49 seconds for first place; Homer’s Eryn Field finished second at 24:34.

The boys 5-kilometer race goes to Seward’s Maz Pfeiffenberger with a time of 18 minutes, 32 seconds.  Homer’s Seamus McDonough placed second at 19:19.
