The Alaska state champions in girls cross country running from 2013 met on the saturated course in Seward for the Frank Dieckgraeff Invitational.
Reigning 4A girls champion Allie Ostrander from KCHS and reigning 1-2-3A girls champion Briahna Gerlach from Glennallen competed side-by-side in the non-classified, open race.
Ostrander posted a winning time of 17:46, more than a minute ahead of Gerlach for the girls title. SoHi’s Olivia Hutchings finished third and Homer’s Megan Pitzman, 4th.
In the boys competition, Kenai’s Jonah Theisen posts a 17:22 for the boys title, followed by Jordan Theisen in second.
