54-year-old Kenneth Brockman of Seward was arrested by Soldotna Alaska State Troopers in Seward over the weekend.
Seward Police report that Brockman was a department officer, who was arrested by troopers on a 4th degree domestic violence assault charge. Last week, Brockman reportedly assaulted a juvenile family member over poor grades at school. Brockman used the buckle end of a leather belt to spank the juvenile resulting in extensive bruising that was observed days later.
Brockman was placed on administrative leave pending the completion of an internal investigation and the resolution of the criminal case. He has been employed with the Seward Police Department since 2008.
He was arrested and remanded to the Seward jail. A criminal investigation is ongoing.
