Seward’s rookie Sarah Stokey will presumable be one of the next mushers to reach the Finish Line, she left the Safety checkpoint at around 3:15 Friday afternoon.
Kasilof’s Monica Zappa took 47th place Thursday afternoon with a time of 11d 0h 17m 32s.
Other Kenai Peninsula mushers to finish the 1,000 mile race include Seward’s Travis Beals in 18th position (6 dogs and a time of 9d 6h 42m 53s) and Kasilof’s Paul Gebhardt in 14th position (with 9 dogs on the line and a time of 9d 3h 10m 17s).
Mitch Seavey finished in second place early Tuesday morning with an impressive record-breaking time of 8d 12h 5m 25s.
