The Seward Seahawk girls defeat the Nikiski Bulldogs 45-28 and the Seward Boys downed the Bulldogs 57-49 in Peninsula Conference basketball action on Friday in Seward.
Seward Girls 45 – Nikiski 28
Seward opened a nine-point lead at the half 22-13; however, the Seahawks scored only 1 point in the third and Nikiski closed to within a basket at 23-21. A 22-point, fourth quarter pushed the Seward girls to a 45-28 Peninsula Conference victory. Shelby Sieminski lead Seward with 3 points; Nikiski’s Shelby Burman scored seven.
Seward Boys 57 – Nikiski 49
The Seward boys gradually pulled-away from the Bulldogs building a 28-23 halftime lead in a 57-49 Seahawk victory. Tommy Cronin lead Seward with 28 points. Three Bulldogs, Brady Bostic, Simon Grenier and Charlie Chamberlain, scored 11 points each.
