The Seward City Council will be holding a special meeting tonight (Monday, August 25) at 6 pm in regards to sewage issues.
Seward City Clerk Johanna Kinney…
Kinney: “One of the city’s sewage facilities is located in Lowell Point and we have a sewage lagoon located out the road and have been dealing with problems there since last summer regarding odor control so it’s been an ongoing issue that the city administration and public works department have been working pretty diligently on getting funding to try to do major maintenance and repair to the facility to try to control the odor measures.”
She added that this special meeting was called in regards to administration proposing to hire a third consultant to investigate ways to remediate the lagoon’s smell while the larger issue of maintaining that lagoon will be on the agenda for the September 8 Seward City Council meeting.
Tonight’s meeting will be held in the City Council Chambers and the public is invited to attend.
